CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
a)
PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
The department
is under the control of a qualified Physical Director.
There is a big playground for conducting athletic events. Facilities
are also available for playing games like Foot Ball, Cricket,
Volley Ball, Tennicoit etc.
SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. S. MOHAMMED YOUSUF, III Year EEE, student won the first prize
in the zonal Power Lifting competition conducted by Anna University
held at MAM College of Engineering, Trichy in August 2004.
2. He also
won the Third place in the Inter Zonal power lifting competition
conducted by Anna University held at Velammal Engineering, Chennai
in September 2004.
3. S. MOHAMMED
YOUSUF, III Year EEE, student won the first prize in the District
Level Power lifting competition conducted by Dindigul District
power lifting Association.
4. He also
won the first place in the Inter District power lifting competition
conducted by Coimbatore District Power lifting association.
5. Our college
foot ball team won the Second place (Runner’s) in the
Inter College Zonal foot ball Tournament conducted by Anna University,
held at M.P.N.M.J. College of Engg., Chennimalai in September
2004.
6. SHITHIN
SANGESH .V.P, IV CSE, S. MIDHUN, IV ECE are provisionally selected
for Zonal combined team for participating in the foot ball Inter
Zonal level match.
7. SOORAJ
.P.N , III ECE, THANGADURAI .D, IV EEE are provisionally selected
for Zonal combined Team for participating in the Cricket Inter
Zonal level match.
8. R.M.
RAJESH, III CSE provisionally selected for Zonal combined team
for participating in the Volley ball Inter – Zonal Level
Match.
9. We conducted
Inter School – Chess Tournament on 19th & 20th November
2004 an Inter district Chess Tournament was held. Our Chairman
Dr. E.P. Janardhanan Inaugurated the tournament in which students
from more than 35 schools participated. Mr.A. Sundaram the Administrative
Officer presided over the prize distribution ceremony.
10. On 4th
December 2004 a state Level Yoga meet was conducted at Sri Subramanya
College of Engineering & Technology, Palani. in which more
than 500 school students from various districts of Tamilnadu
participated.
Palani
Special branch 7th Battalion Commander Mr.G.K. Vanniaperumal,
I.P.S., inaugurated the meet and Mr. S.G. Dhanasekaran, Siddhanathan
& Sons presided over the prize distribution ceremony, Teams
from Virudhunagar, Dindigul & Theni districts got the prizes.
11. A State Level Inter Engineering Yoga sports meet was held
on 18th & 19th February 2005. Mr. S. Jayaprakash, General
Secretary, Tamilnadu Yoga sports association Inaugurated the
function more than 150 students from various Engineering colleges
all over Tamilnadu participated in it.

Rajendran Treasurer of Tamilnadu Yoga sports association presided
over the prize distribution ceremony.
In first
year boys category, our college students secured I & II
places in individual participation. In Final year boys category
also our students secured First place in Individual participation
and second prize in group participation.
NATIONAL
SERVICE SCHEME:
The College has one unit of National Service Scheme under the
control of Mr. A. Gopi Saminathan, the Programme Officer. The
following activities were conducted by the unit.
1. Medical
Camps were conducted in the neighboring villages. More than
200 families were benefited out of this.
2. Blood
donation camps were conducted in the college and 100 units of
blood were donated to Government Hospital, Palani, Dindigul,
Rajaji Hospital, Madurai, by our students.
3. A special
annual Ten days camp was conducted from 03.01.2004 to 12.01.2004
in North Thathanaickenpatti Village. Besides a number of awareness
programs and different medical camp were conducted in the camp
site benefiting 500 families.
4. Seminars
were organized on energy Management, water resource development
population growth and career guidance.
5. A special
annual Ten days camp was conducted from 09.02.2005 to 18.02.2005
in Pethanaickenpatti Village. The camp was inaugurated and presided
by Shri. S.Chellathurai, N.S.S. Co-ordinator, Anna University,
Chennai. Besides a number of awareness programs and different
medical camp were conducted in the camp site benefiting 700
families.
Every year
the programme is conducted in various villages.
